What do I wear to a restaurant job interview?

JOB INTERVIEW AT A BRAND NEW BAR/RESTAURANT WHAT TO WEAR?!?

• I'm 18, female an I just got my first interview at this new bar/restaurant. I sent in my application a few hours ago and they literally slap bang sent me a reply straight off the bat. I have never been to a job interview before and I don't know what to wear. Are bar's an such (I think this place is going to be very nice as it is a new bar) I haven't been there before but reviews are all brilliant for it. I am aware that restaurants are particular about having girls with huge fake tanned breasts and massive huge over dressed everything in all sorts of uniforms or little dresses and I am not like that. However my application does state I want to become a tattoo artist and I'm really interested in instruments, art, photography, body modifications and Japanese pop culture so they must have some idea that I will have facial piercings and tattoo's. (although the tattoo's can be easily hidden and are nothing large or vulgar on my arms and chest) Will they hate me the minute they see me? I have three lip piercings, two nose, an eyebrow and a tear drop dermal anchor (they can't see ears or tongue or anywhere else) I am not ugly I have bleached hair to a natural blonde straight style, very pale with blue eyes and I'm always clean and presentable I smile a lot too. What should I wear? please bare in mind I'm not a mini dress girl with large breasts I'm flat as a board.

  I think the clothes both you and the first answerer suggest will be appropriate. Regarding big boobs etc, I doubt this place being also a restaurant would deliberately go for the busty blond barmaid type. I would expect a near balance of male & female diners, having romantic or business meals together. With regard to the facial piercings some people do find them very offputting. It depends on the customers' demographics. If they are older then not so good. If they're a trendy city centre outfit it may actually help your application. IMO definitely hide the tattoos for the job interview, until at least you get past the first impression stage. Do, however, mention them during the end of the interview. This is because if appointed they may change their mind, thinking you weren't fully honest at interview. In conclusion, for interviews do *not* emphasise your physical differences, just subtlely play them down. Before the big day you need to guess exactly what they are like (upmarket, trendy or rough).
