Where can I get get a job?

I can't get a job. Any-fücking-where?

  • I've literally had it trying to look for a job. I've been looking for almost a year, I've put out resumes everywhere that I can think of, and NO ONE calls me back. I've had a job for like 7 months in customer service, but employers seem to rather hire the person that hasn't done bum fück all. My friend and I applied to the same place, me with a little exp and her with none, and she got called + interviewed + the job. I didn't get sh!t. I've gotten my smart serve (a thing that Ontarians have to get to serve alcohol) but another friend who doesn't have it (which is illegal btw, but hey) is working at a restaurant where she serves drinks. LIKE ACTUALLY WTF. I have no one that I can have help me get my foot in the door because I don't know anyone in this stupid city. There's around 500,000 people in my city, like 3 malls, countless department stores, etc, yet I can't seem to snag the most basic job. Do you know what it's like being the only one of your friends who don't have a job? Terrible because you can't afford sh!t. I'm 18, need to start saving for college, but how do I save when no place will hire me? My Facebook settings are on lock, and if they search me they'll only find a picture of my face. I'm not ugly, btw. I'm not saying I'm a rocket, but I'm not ugly. I've put cover letters on some resumes, I've revamped my resume 0301263023e2e-21939e30 times. I've dressed nicely, called back, etc, and nothing. Honestly am I doing something wrong? Not even MCFKNDONALDS will hire me. Sad, no? I'm not in school until September so my availability is pretty amazing. My friend even came back from university and got a job offer pretty much right away. She had to decline it because she was going back to school in September (like 2 hours away) so she couldn't work there past the summer. Yet I have the same amount of exp as her, and I'll be here in September because my school is in the same fücking city. I've had 4 interviews, snagged one job from that, but compared to the amount of places I applied.... 4 is probably like 5%. I'm so fed up. /RANT Honestly am I doing something wrong? I know you can't see it, but my resume looks pretty good too. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH F LIFE

  • Answer:

Can't tell without seeing you in person, and at an interview. What you need to do, after being turned down, is to nicely ASK THE INTERVIEWER if there is anything you can do to increase your chances of getting the job the next time. You may discover a pattern you can address.
