How to become a freelancer professional web developer?

I want to be a freelancer web developer & want to work freelancing market place like oDesk.com,freelancer.com,elence.com etc. Please tell me what I've to learn.I need a complete guideline from a successful freelancer web developer.I am trying since 2009.I've learnt HTML(I am not sure about which version I ve learnt),I've learnt Basic CSS. Now I discover there are HTML,HTML4.01,HTML5,XHTML1.0,XHTML1.1,XH… But I am confused which version I should learn to be a professional?? Please give me a proper guideline about I should learn? I also interested in wordpress & joomla developing, please give me a proper guideline what & which version markup & programming language I should learn to be a successful professional web developer. I'll very happy if anybody give me proper guideline in detail. Thank you.
