How to lucid dream?

How do you have a lucid dream?

  • I have read many ways on how to lucid dream, and from just about every website about lucid dreaming, but I can't manage to do it! I have been trying every night for months, my body pretty much automatically checks if I am dreaming or not (fingers through the palm mainly). I have tried every single way of getting a lucid dream but I just can't! I recently got a metronome on my iPod that can be set for stopping after 30 minutes. I use this by setting it on and lying perfectly still on my back and opening my eyes when the metronome stops, then go to sleep properly. I was told that this is the best way to get a lucid dream, but it just doesn't work! Please give some tips on lucid dreaming or something!

  • Answer:

Try jumping into the air a few times a day when nobody is around. Do this daily. After three to four weeks, if you've been consistent, you'll have a dream where you jump into the air. But in dreams, we don't just drop back to the ground, we float back down. Then you'll know you're in a dream.

Other answers

Try napping for ~90 minutes, waking up from a dream (they tend to cluster at the end of each 90-minute sleep cycle), remaining in alpha (dreamy) rhythm, and return to the dream with the intent to change some part of it.
