Is MyYearbook connected to facebook somehow?

So this guys facebook profile is connected to my email but I don't know him?

  • Some guy who has the same exact first and last name as me somehow managed to connect his email to my facebook account so now every time someone posts a status on his profile or he updates his picture and someone comments I get an email saying "so and so" commented on my status or photo when this is not even my facebook! Both my facebook and his facebook are using the same email. But I thought you could only have one facebook account per email? I clicked on the link on the facebook email and it automatically logged me into his account without asking for his password or email. So I was on his profile and he had a different pic then me which is how I know. I sent him an email saying to kindly change his password and email cause there was a mixup and I am doing the proper thing by letting him know what happened but he has not responded or anything and his updates keep coming to me even though I sent him like 3 facebook messages saying sorry I have no clue who you are or why your facebook is attached to my email. Why would this happen and what should I do? Also I made sure the profile and the links I clicked on said facebook.com and that is how I know it was not a fake email when I clicked the link.

  • Answer:

Log into your email and change your password. Then go to Facebook. If it still logs you into this other person's profile, log out, and log back in with your own password. If you still can't log into your account (if it logs you into his, or won't let you log back in at all) try this: If it logs you into his profile, look at the top right of the page, next to the name and "Home" There should be an arrow. Click on the arrow and then click "Account Settings." On the left side of the screen, click on "Security". There should be a setting called "Login Notifications". Click on that, and check the box. What this will do is cause Facebook to send an email to your email account every time anyone logs into that account. What that will also do is give you a link to report unauthorized activity on your account. So when the guy who's causing trouble logs in, you can boot him out and get your account back. I hope that works for you. If it doesn't, send me a message at [email protected], and I'll help you more.
