How to make a new youtube channel?

I'm trying to make a new youtube channel but am very confused as to how. I know Google + & Youtube are connected but whenever i press create account on YouTube it takes me to make an account on Google Plus... I have done but then when i go back onto youtube the channel is called "My Name" which is not what i want it to be called, if anyone could help me i'd be very greatful.

Answer:
You need to change the defalt 'My Name' (to your user_name choice), BEFORE you confirm your G+ account. Then, when G+ sends you back to youtube, your new user_name will be the account name. Hope this helps.
