Does google Voice charge?

When i use Google voice .....Does verizon charge me for my minutes used?

• when i make calls from my computer using google voice i have a different number than my verizon number .... does verizon charge me for the minutes i use .. with this google number ? i got a huge bill also does verizon recognize my family and friends numbers when i use my google number?

  It happened to me as well with at & t. The google voice dials local numbers and then re-directs call internationally. So even if you are using verizon carrier the call should cost only local charge cost, plus airtime minutes plus the rate of international call which google voice charges you with. At any point of time the bill should not be high. What happened is that accidentally the carrier placed long distance charges on you. I called at & t customer service, explained the scenario and they credited the cost to my account. Depending upon the amount you may not need to pay bill for one or two months. So please call cusotmer care and explain... they may not refund the money to your bank account etc...
