Why do I get so tired and sleepy after cardio workouts?

Lately I've been getting terribly tired after working out. Usually I get around 30 - 45 minutes of moderate cardio - aerobics, jogging, biking. But I've been feeling like a reck after my workouts! My heart speeds up and I can't seem to catch my breath. I've been diagnosed with anxiety, and my doctor says that there is nothing wrong with my ECG or blood, even though I'm scheduled for additional check ups for my thyroid (apparently my thyroid hormone is on the high limit of the chart, and they want to see how it will develop). My doctor told me that most likely my breathlessness after workouts is due to freaking out and panicking. But I don't think I'm panicing after workouts! I honestly feel tired and breathless after a bit of workout, even if it's just 15 minutes, but I usually press on and then feel absolutely horrible. It feels as if my muscles can take so more effort, but just after 10-15 minutes I'm already breathless and not feeling well. It's aweful because I'm only 24! I should be able to do more workout than this, and feel like I'm about to die in the end! Aw, one more thing, I recently suddenly dropped several kilos without trying just from stress and lack of sleep. So, does anyone have any suggestions for me, please? I don't want to be like this...

My suggestion.. monitor your heart rate for the duration of your workout.. your 24 so your max heart rate is 220-24 = 196 beats per minute. If you say your feeling really really tired after 15 minutes you COULD be working at around 90% of this which is around 175 beats per minute.. which is considered high intensity training. Most people cant stomach high intensity training very long.. If you are suffering from anxiety, panic disorders etc etc.. the heart rate could be getting very high and this could contribute also..

make sure your eating enough, also when you finish exercise have a big glass of water or fruit juice and have a banana or another piece of fruit to help with the sugar levels

id take a break for a few weeks and also chill out at work or with your studies. you are over working yourself. i cant prove it but im sure that i got seriously ill (to the point i was in a critical condition) because of stress at work and overdoing it at the gym. im talking 5 hours on a cross trainer or 30-40 miles running per week plus a 50 hour work week and studying in the evenings (where i fit all that i dont know..). anyway, take a break for a while it really isnt gonna do you any good despite you thinking the exercise is sooooo important. in fact it can be detrimental. in terms of the exercise id say thats directly related to overdoing it either going too much or expecting too much of yourself during a day/week.... chill out a bit.

Try easing back on the intensity of your workouts for a few weeks. When you finish your workout, try drinking an "electrolyte replacement" power-drink (replaces sodium levels).... and eating a banana (replaces pottasium levels). What is your diet like? Get more iron & vit-C in your diet. Eat more dark green veg (broccoli, cabbage, peas), red meat, and citrus fruit (oranges, grapefruit, pineapple). Go to your doctor and get a blood test (especially for aneamia & diabetes).
