What's happening to me?

My mom has gone to the ER three times over a really bad headache, whats happening?

  • A couple weeks ago my mom complained of an extremely bad headache and went to the ER over it. The doctors tested her, but nothing seemed to be wrong, so she was cleared to go home. Skip ahead a couple days, she has the same headache, ends up in the ER again and comes out with no problems. Just know today she went to church for her choir group and had the same headache, and is currently on her way the the hospital again. My mom is around 46 years old. Whats happening to her, I am only 13 and getting very worried. I've looked at some other posts about this happening and they all keep say that nothing bad is going to happen and that she will be okay, but my mom is getting them so frequently. Whats wrong?

She needs to go to a regular doctor and get tested, ER's don't spend the time to get to the bottom of problems. They just patch you up and send you home if you are not bleeding and still breathing. If her regular doc doesn't have an answer he will refer her to a neurologist. Plus they are expensive.

I don't think they are going to find anything again for headaches are caused by tight neck muscles. The muscles go to the top of the head where they connect to muscles going around the head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's the headache. Tests and scans don't show the tight muscles so they go undiagnosed. When your mom was at church and singing she ended up tightening up her neck muscles even more to cause the headache to set in. To get rid of the headaches she has to free up her neck muscles so they can't pull the head muscles into pain any longer and here's how to free them up for her relief: Neck: Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle, behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck extended (lowered) for another 30 seconds For best results relax the body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed. She may have to repeat this a time or two if the muscles are really tight. good luck.
