How do you treat bone spurs?

Bone spur question......................…

  • can you dissolve bone spurs in your big toe joints naturally (from big toe arthritis hallux limitus) with apple cider or some other method other than surgery? osteophytes can be dissolved right? i have bumps on the sides of and top of my big toe suddenly and im sure its not a bunion but a bone spur.... and i dont want bone shaving surgery so im hoping there is a natural way to treat this. thanks

  • Answer:

See your health care provider as soon as possible (podiatrist), for consultation. Putting pads inside your regular shoes may help, so long as the pads don't put more pressure on the spurs. Aspirin or ibuprofen may relieve the pain temporarily, but that's not a long-term solution. Sometimes an injection of a long-acting corticosteroid (Depo-Medrol, Hydrocortone) can provide relief for months. If those simple measures aren't sufficient, surgery to file down the protuberances may indeed be your best bet. Recovery from surgery rarely takes eight weeks. See a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. I hope this helps you. And good luck.
