What are the chances of me getting into my program of study?

What are my chances of getting into a good drama/theatre program or a writing program at a CA colleges?

• I am junior in Riverside I will be applying for college next year and I really want major in either or both theatre/acting or screenwriting. I love both I want to learn as much as I can about them. I know these professions are difficult to succeed in both nothing ventured nothing gained! I've worked And in the Theatre at my school. I never got a lead role yet but that's because the teacher usually gives it to the seniors which means next year will be good for me. Does having more supporting roles look bad when applying? What I am also worried about is my grades getting in the way. I have a 3.5 GPA and a 1930 on the SAT. I will definitely try to raise both of them up in my senior year. I know I am a shoo-in for UCR but there are better schools that I can get into with better programs but I don't know which schools. Does anyone know my chances of getting into better schools like UCLA, UC Berkley, Stanford, or USC? I'm sure those schools are a fantastic place to learn and with programs that will help me in the future. Please no answers that says "Ask your counselor" because mine is pushing me to go to UCR but I really think I can do better. There also have been some talk on how the budget cuts at UCR have made the arts program there worse. I want to go to a school where the teachers and facilities are top notch.

  Well aswell as your GPA you should have a good foundation of training in classes,workshops,plays etc. For major schools such as Juliard the chances are very slim,thousand apply each year and they only accept something crazy like 24 people. If you are very naturally talented they may accept you but I no that practicular school likes people to have a high GPA. If I were you I would take something else in university and do acting after hours,just so you can do what you love but at the end of the day you can still pay your bills.
