Gift ideas for a fly fisherman?

Fly fishing gift ideas?

  • My dad is an experienced fly fisherman does anyone know of a gift I could give him? Vacations? Anything memorable? He's got all the equipment and even ties his own flies, we've gotten him supplies and all the gear before so not looking for anything materialistic. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Your father is very lucky to have people buy fly fishing themed gifts for him! As you suggest he has most of the gear so fly fishing related gadgets would probably be off the cards- unless you go down the route of limited edition gear which I certainly would appreciate if i was in that situation. Well... if you're up to paying for a vacation for him, may I suggest a new reel instead? An Abel fly reel... if your dad is as experienced as you say he is, then he would greatly appreciate one of these reels more than any vacation, and if his daughter gave him one of these, it would definitely be memorable. I know you said nothing materialistic, but c'mon, be realistic... a real angler wants more and better stuff, not something with "sentimental value".
