How different are tissue-specific fibroblasts from each other?

Are fibroblasts made during mitosis or meiosis?

  • I know that mitosis involves somatic cells, cells that make up the body of an organism… since fibroblasts are cells that can develop into many other kinds of cells, I think mitosis is the correct answer. Do you think that fibroblasts are somatic cells? If so, are they produced during mitosis?

  • Answer:

fibroblasts are diploid somatic cells made during mitosis
