How To Find Application Root?

How to find the range of a square-root function?

  • Hello! I am currently working with square root functions, and I need to find the ranges of each of these: y=-square root of x, y= -.5(square root of x), y=-2(square root of x), y=-3(square root of x), and y= -4(square root of x). Please explain the steps if you could. Thanks c:

  • Answer:

y=-√(x) since you can't take root of negative numbers, the domain is x≥ 0 when x=0, y=0 x>0 y< 0 so range is y≤ 0 y= -(1/2)√ x range is the same for all of them
