How much do truck drivers make in a year?

• My girlfriend said her dad made 220,000 dollars last year and he is a truck driver. He owns his own truck but drives for a company. Is this possible. Bc I have never heard of a driver making that much. And being a gentlemen, I won't bust her out loil.

My father is in the truckers union and earns around 45,000 a year. Was around 52, but pay cuts have been taking away from his salary and pension. thought i have heard that truckers in northern alaska, and canada get paid really well because of the risks involved in their jobs.
