Does the DMV do their own driving test?

What do you do after you pass your driving test at the DMV? Do you take the paper to the DMV or what?

• Soo took my driving test maybe like earlier this month I forgot when. The driving instructed had a very thick accent so I had a hard time understanding him. Anyway the driving test ended and the driving instructed said I passed and said I'd get my license in the mail on the 26th but it hasn't came yet and I'm wondering if I had to take that paper to the DMV office or something! I'm nervous because I don't wanna take the test again so someone help me please?! Oh this was in California also mainly Los Angeles county!

  Normally what happens when you go to dmv to take your "behind-the-wheels" test, you have to show up with a licensed driver whom will probably wait for you inside the dmv while youre taking your driving test. You'll check in for your appointment and the person who checks you in will run a check on your registration and insurance info to see if theyre valid. If that checks out ok, then the instructor will come out and check to see if your hazard lights and mirrors are all working, will have you do the arm signals first befire you guys take off. After the test they should have given you a paper for you to take back inside where you were supposed to give to the person who'd print out your temporary drivers license and then you d leave with the person that came with you since you can't just leave them stranded at the dmv. After that, it takes any where from 1 to 4 weeks to receive your official driver license card in the mail.
