How bad will the Giants defense be in 2012?

  • I think they should have done more to address their defense in the draft. They allowed the 27th most yards per game and the 25th most points per game (their points allowed per game was actually worse than Green Bay or New England). Yet they only used 2 picks on defensive players, a third round CB and a 7th round DT. I wouldn't be suprised to see their defense keep them out of the playoffs next year. You can't expect Jason Pierre-Paul to make EVERY play on the field.

    Shut up idiot. They have one of the best D-lines in NFL history. 4 DE's that would start on any other team. Plus 4 more great DT's. Good LB's Good DB's. They have depth at every position. You obviously know nothing about football. Giants had no running game last year which means they passed it all the time. That means not much time comes off the clock. Packers had a terrible defense for the same reason even though they were still pretty decent. Patriots for the same reason also but they aren't as good. If you are always on defense you can't expect to stop them every play.

I'm a Giants fan and I have to admit, I was a little bit surprsied that they didn't address more defensive needs myself. The running back thing was very important, they almost had to take care of that first even though I believe that Coby Fleener was the best player available in the draft at that point. There's still time to pick up somebody in free agency, althought there are not a lot of DEs out there. They have to do something.

About the same as last. Maybe they think they can bank on Eli and new additions to improve the offense, but they better not have to hope for a 9-7 record doing it next year.
