How do cellphones calculate heart rate?

How do you calculate heart rate?

  • how do you calculate heart rate when you are told that the individual has 62.9 BPM and you are given an electrocardiogram when they are at rest.( this is for a level biology!) help much appreciated ^-^ !x

  • Answer:

You don't need to calculate anything. You've already been told their heart is beating at 62.9 beats per minute. THAT'S THEIR HEART RATE--62.9 bpm!!! Maybe they want you to calculate cardiac output??? That's heart rate multiplied by stroke volume... EDIT: To Marwan... what you're talking about is cardiac output (C.O.)--volume of blood pumped per minute--that's not the same as heart rate, although heart rate is used in its calculation--see above. Also, there's no law that says h.r. HAS to be 70 bpm--highly trained athletes often have resting heart rates as low as in the 30s--when I was bicycle racing, my resting rate ranged from 40-45.

The easiest way is to get a metronome and compare the individual to that of the BPM. Obviously you aren't musically inclined otherwise you would have already known that. I could tell you what is was, instantly, just by hearing it.

I am not sure what your question is related to the second part of your question, but generally you take the number of pulses in 5 seconds and multiply by 12. If you are going to become a medical provider please learn this stuff!

If they are at rest so they should have a 70 BPM not 62.9 but any way this heart should be pumping 4.5 liters of blood in each min and thats the heart rate or at least thats what i know
