My first Gynecologist visit?

First gynecologist visit?..Scared. Help!?

  • I have a question. I'm 16 and I am going to my first Gyno visit...my mom suspects me and my bf have been having sex.. we have been but she CAN'T know!!! She will KILL me AND my bf! So my questions are.. when I go, I know my Mom will come back with me... sooo..-- 1. Can my gyno tell my mother that ive had sex if I tell him not to before hand? 2. Will the nurse make my mom leave first before asking questions, or not? 3. Can I lie and tell him that im not a virgin? Will he think its just from tampons?? PLEASE help me.. I'm sooo scared...

  • Answer:

You can tell the nurse or the obgyn that you do not want your mother in the room and they will not let her back because of patient privacy. Even if you lie to the nurse they will still know that you have been having sex.

Be firm and say no and things will b fine.

Sweetie don't b scared your moms not dumb she was a teenager herself once to but if ur unconfortable about her knowing then yes your gyno docter will keep it confidentional just tell your mom you don't feel confortable with her in the room while he's looking at u and don't lie to your docter and if your goin to the gyno for a pap test then your mom already knows your having sex because you start taking them yearly when you've started to have sex Good luck :)

1. If you are having sex you should definitely see a gyno. 2. You should tell your gyno you are having sex and be honest with them so that they can check and test for the appropriate things in relation to being sexually active. 3. Planned parenthood's accept cash if you don't want to use your insurance. Some doctors offices can list a gyno visit as a regular doctors visit on the insurance bill. 4. Laws vary from state to state, some states require parental consent before being allowed to perform certain procedures. You can get std tests without parental consent. I think the confidentiality aspect also varies from state to state but you can always just ask the doctor if they will tell your parents before answering anything. 5. Just tell your mom casually you feel more comfortable if you are with the nurse alone for your visit. If there's any chance of being honest with your mom without it ruining your relationship that would be your best bet.
