How can I prepare for a good interview?

How can i prepare for my first job interview!?

• Im really nervous as i have a job interview in 2 days for a part time sales assistant role at the jd sports clothing retail store, what questions will i be asked? and what would be good responses to these? also how can i prepare for this? thanks

  First get calm and confident. You don't want to come over too shy or insecure but also not too arrogant. Prepare a neat resume of yours. You are probably still a student so the resume will not be long, so they will not ask you lots of question for previous positions. Think of a reasonable answer of the question "Why you want to work with us" or "what made you want to work with us"? Good companies want to hire people with desire and passion at what they do. So if you are such you need to persuade them with a stable reason. If not you are probably suited for different job. If the interviewer/s is skilled he/they will want to relate with you - they could ask you for your background, something from your childhood, some other fields you are good at like sport or classes you take in free time. Then they will probe you with questions. Finally they will make sure you are the right guy for the position by telling you that you are probably not for that job. And if you really want the position you will have to object them and let them know you are the right guy. When they ask "Tell me about yourself" - tell them your desires, passions, and how you can help them grow their company business. Reveal your strengths but if they ask for weaknesses - don't hide them (everyone has, so its no point to lie them that you are perfect). Wear good appropriate clothing. How you look speaks about yourself. Perhaps dress appropriately for the position you want to be in. If it requires a suit - wear suit.
