A: Well It's hard to pick a favorite anime/Manga character because a lot of them have the same personality (i.e. The cool guy, the cocky one, the shy one, etc.) But if I had to pick it would have to be Light Yagami from Death Note because he is a character that has the most depth in the short amount of time the series ran for. A: I like the art style, I like the Japanese language in general, American cartoons/tv shows don't have the same type of feel or depth or anything similar to anime, and above all it entertains me.

I watch dubs only when I'm too bored to read, or the characters should have an accent which Japanese seiyu's always fail to do. A: Yeah, simply put they're pretty much interactive stories. Most are turned into anime/manga etc. Though the more popular ones seem to get games instead :/ which is probably better in some ways i guess. Question 4a: Do you play visual novels? If yes, how many? What do you like about the medium? A: I've played 999 and time hollow...thats pretty much the extent of what i've been able to find/buy. I enjoy the mystery/psychological aspects of the games, though 999 is so much better. I probably own more, but my brains fried from studying until 2am this morning for a math test, so i'll leave it at that. Question 5: Have you contributed back to the fandom in any way? A: Because the stories aren't restricted by the laws of physics, providing stories that would otherwise be impossible to portray, plus i enjoy learning about Japanese culture.

Well, a lot of reasons. I will copy and paste the reasons from my best answer from a question asked a few weeks ago (but I'll change a bit to condense the reasons). - It is the original version. You hear the original voice actors/actresses and most of them fit really well to the characters that they were doing the voice of. - Most dubbed ones are terrible. Most of them do not have the correct voice actor/actress for a particular character and makes the anime look bad. I'm glad that I watched the animes subbed, because Japanese voice actors/actresses can ''merge'' with the anime characters and make us engage with the anime much easily compare to dubbed ones, which are usually unfit to the characters. - Some countries might dub some animes in a way that ''degrades'' the age rating so that it's suitable to a younger audience than what it was originally targeted. This is the most annoying and frustrating thing. It's like watching a completely different show, and you won't get the real storyline. Also, the background music could be changed as well, and making an anime show not as epic as the original version. - Some dubs, even if there are good ones, but any puns and playing with words can sometimes be lost once being translated to a different language. In some subs I watched, there are some info on the top of the screen to show that some puns are used, so then I know that this will make sense only in Japanese. But in dubbed versions, sometimes they don't tell you this, and they usually change the dialogue everytime this happens, or simply...cut it out. If no, skip to question 4. A: No. I'm not really into manga, I prefer visual, but the characters must be 'alive' and their voices be heard.
