Is taking four AP classes for my senior year too much?
-
So I took two APs as a junior and it didn't seem like to much. I am planing on taking AP Literature, AP Statistics, AP Psychology and AP Environmental Science. I don't think I'll be super stress because I have a free period and I am not taking a foreign language. I am also heavily involved in theatre at school.

My senior year of high school I took four AP classes: AP Calculus, AP English, AP History, AP Biology. The rest of my curriculum included Psychology, Government, and Honors Orchestra. Additionally, I was involved in several extracurriculars including Marching Band, Jazz Band, Elite Winds Ensemble, Varsity Track, Varsity Soccer, as well as being involved in my church, having a full-time job as a waiter (I turned 18 early in my school year), and a long-term [college] girlfriend. In hindsight, I believe I managed my school work rather effectively. I graduated with High Honors. I earned several scholarships including a [renewable 2-year] Merit Alumni Scholarship to the University of Michigan. I would say having that kind of workload prepared me much better for university than traditional high school classes. College level courses are very intensive and are completely independent study. You need to develop your time-management and study skills now. If I could change anything, I would have dropped the girlfriend. It was the only part of my life that blew up in my face and ultimately distracted me from my future goals. One could say it set me on a much different path than I expected and it altered my life. For better or for worse I'll never know. Bottom line: It all depends on you. How committed and dedicated are you? The decisions you make now will determine the course of the rest of your life. Consult your parents. As much as they seem old and/or obsolete, they know what they're talking about. They're also the ONLY people in your life that GENUINELY want what is best for YOU. What are you willing to sacrifice? I was willing to sacrifice sleep. Still do to this day (12 years later). It's not really healthy, but I get a lot done. Ps. No pressure! LOL I'm sure you will make the best decision for you. Live life with no regrets!

Nope. That does not seem bad at all! AP Psychology and AP environmental are considered the easiest AP classes, and I am taking them sophomore year. I just finished up with my spring musical by the way! The only think I would do is make sure you are focused, most seniors will encounter the haunted senioritis!

Those classes are all push-overs. I got a 5 on all of those exams. Try AP Biology and AP US History. Those were terribly hard.
