Sony PSP troubles....?
-
I have a PSP with software version 6.60. I cant afford to buy games so i downloaded a few for free but have trouble putting them onto the PSP. While i was looking for solutions online a couple of people recommended downgrading my PSP or changing the system software to 6.60 pro b9, though i have no idea what that means !! I researched a bit and tried to change it to 6.60 b9 by watching a couple of videos on youtube but in vain, I have tried creating folders like ISO and putting the games in it but that didnt work, what-so-ever. BTW, my games ARE in ISO and CSO versions.... Can you guys PLEASE tell me how to put those games onto my psp and define terms like "downgrading" and "6.60 pro b9" ????? PLEASE...... IT WOULD REALLY MEAN A LOT TO ME !!!

Answer:
Downgrading means rolling back to a previous firmware, most likely suggested so you can find a firmware with an exploit. Your folders, ISO and CSO's are pointless on your memory stick as you haven't flashed your psp yet. 6.60 pro b is the name of a custom firmware, you need to research to find out if your model and firmware are exploitable, I couldn't tell you now as the last psp I flashed was 6 or so years ago.

Download these files:- http://procfw.googlecode.com/files/660PRO-B10.fix1.rar Install Pro CFW The Pro CFW archive provides several subfolders in the “PSP/GAME” folder. Two of them are interesting for us: the FastRecovery and the PROUPDATE folders. Those two need to be extracted to the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick. Assuming you extracted the files correctly, you will see a few new applications in your PSP’s Game menu. The one you will want to run in order to install Pro CFW is “Pro Update”. Just run it. That’s it. You can erase the “ProUpdate” folder from your PSP, but keep the “FastRecovery” one.
