Does mixed people?

Why do alot of mixed race people claim to be black?

• In america and i'm sure in other countrys too mixed race people claim to be black and they get called black even though there mixed. Like I can name many celebritys that are mixed that identify themselves as black and get called black. Beyonce is not full black she is mixed. She is half black and half creole. Beyonce is of mixed heritage. This is a fact. She is part creole. I did my research in official census. Beyonces mom, Tina is only like 1/32 black (!) Her mom Agnez Derouen was born to Odilia Broussard ( daughter of white frenchman E R Broussard and Josephine Lesser a quadroon) and Eugene Derouen (mother white, father white/ cherokee/ black descent ) and married Lumis Beyince white/cherokee descent) . That makes Tina only like 1/32 black and predominantly white and cherokee with her green eyes and light skin which you can see and tell and notice she aint black unless you are partially sighted or retarded. Beyonces dad is black,yes with some indian admixture too). Beyonce will call herself black like other mixed race women cause thats what the society wants her to do.but she is actually mixed and is not full black. Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, Obama, Rihanna. They are all mixed and not full black so why do people call them black. I just don't get it. Also if anyone wants me to explain there celebrity backgrounds I can happily do so as they are not full black. And as for saying the one drop rule. I have heard about that but isn't that racist. Why not just say your mixed. Ok it good to be proud of there black heritage but what about the white side. People just act like there black as they don't have any white side. Well they all do have a good percentage of white in them and other mixes so why just call them black. Also as for people saying that most african american are mixed with something thats why there all different shades blah blah blah well yes that is true but them celebritys I have just named is actually more mixed than your average african american and no I not just making any of this up. This is facts. Were I come from people call mixed people mixed. There is no one drop rule. I know alot of mixed people identity themselves as black and people see them as black but if you have a good percentage of another race in you to me your mixed and I just don't understand why they can't call themselves mixed and be proud of all there heritages. I mean isn't it racist to deny a part of your race. There was a one drop rule were whites call every mixed person who got any black blood in them black and black people also claim them as there own. That is racist. People should be able to say there mixed and be proud of it. And btw I not racist or ignorant. I don't see color. I have dated alot of different races. I just don't understand why one won't be proud of being mixed and label themselves as mixed instead of insisting there black.

  That's a very good question and I like the fact that you have done your research. Personally I have no training or special knowledge in the matter but my opinion is this. Humans in general like to feel like they are a part of something, like they are involved in something. Nobody wants to be nobody and just blend into the woodwork. In general, whether we like it or not, being part of a minority culture that has been through hard times in the past makes you feel part of something special. It's just human nature. All the people you have mentioned are part of American culture, which is dominated by white people. Those people are embracing their black backgrounds because it makes them feel slightly unique, part of a close knit group (a family if you like) but most of all it makes them feel special. At the end of that day that is what we all crave.
