How to use French language in Yahoo mail?

• Recently my Yahoo mail has insisted I use US English as my default spell check language. There appears to be no way to convince it I am in the UK and want to only use UK English. Word/Excel and Firefox are fine, but this most recent version it really annoying. It's set in my profile correctly but where do you set it so that new emails going out and emails coming in are spell checked using the UK English as the default?

  Yahoo appears to have no alternative other than the US spell-check dictionary, at least not one that you or I could find ... We will have to live with their version and ignore the irritating red squiggly lines. If you know a way to show Yahoo in Firefox with an alternate country, please let me know via Yahoo e-mail in my profile - it is so irritating ... There are browser add-ons that might supercede Yahoo's spell-check, since they are browser-based, but I have not tried either one ...
