Plant diversity in highlands and lowlands?
-
Would you expect to see more plant diversity in highlands or lowlands in a particular forest? THanks

Answer:
Lowlands are typically better but there are exceptions like when the mountains get far more rain than the lowlands. In places that are very dry, highlands should have more diversity because it is a much more favorable place for rain. In other places it is very cold and not much lives in the highlands. That is probably more typical. Lower forests tend to be older and have more species.
