If this is a new laptop then there should be no usernames already listed. It sounds like this is a laptop that has been returned to the store for some reason after already being sold and used by someone else. The retailer who sold it to you has no right to advertise or sell the laptop as "new" under these circumstances. If it were me I would complain to the retailer and insist on a "new" replacement. You don't know why the original purchaser even returned it, it may have been faulty in some way. The law is on your side on this and so insist on a replacement. Unfortunately many computer retailers often resort to selling items as new when they are not but it is illegal. If you decide to keep the laptop [I wouldn't if I were you and the law is on your side] you have one other option As the laptop is new [for you it is new] then as you don't have any files on it yet you could use the factory restore option [either a disk or a restore partition supplied with the laptop] to get a clean windows install. This will allow you to set up as the only username. Unlocker, mentioned in another answer is a great utility but will be no use to you in these circumstances. As you need to get rid of the current user account and the files in c:/Users/Whatever the username is. You could just choose to set up your own user account and disable or even delete the existing account from ControlPanel>User Accounts but why you should put up with a secondhand laptop which cost you an as new price? You can rename even protected folders if you first take ownership of them. But I don't advise you do this with a user account folder as it may cause problems. A step by step guide on how to take ownership of a protected folder in windows 7 is here but I DO NOT recommend you do this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753659.aspx Return it and complain and if the retailer refuses then report them to the office of fair trading as selling a secondhand laptop as new is illegal!

To move or rename a folder, first make sure the folder is locked, and then just do it like you normally do, directly in the Finder. You should see a "synced" message from Espionage, letting you know that Espionage is now aware of its new location.
