What does a Low, Hard, Closed cervix mean?

I'm past ovulation and my cervix is high, firm, closed, and wet. Does this mean anything?

  • I should be about 6 days past ovulation. Its been this way since about 2 days after when I think I ovulated. I have a lot of creamy wet cervical mucus. I can barely reach my cervix. I have to reach all the way up, but it feels firm and closed. What does this mean? And I'm TTC! Thanks!

  • Answer:

It takes between 6 and 10 days but the average is 8. From there it usually takes a day or two before the pregnancy is detectable even with very sensitive tests. Cervical position isn't really an accurate way to predict pregnancy until your period is due, when you can take a test. It will remain high and firm until a couple of days before your period is due when it will move down and slowly open. During pregnancy it remains high and closed.

EWCM or egg-white cervical mucus present a week after ovulation, which may be caused by estrogen spiking which triggers the uterine walls to prepare for implantation. Another reason could be a delay in ovulation. If you are TTC, you should try having sex when you detect ewcm as this increases the chance of getting pregnant.
