What is the best way to control anxiety attacks?

ANXIETY / PANIC ATTACKS HELP?

  • I'm a 15 year old female & I've been suffering from what I believe are anxiety attacks for about 3 years now. I won't go into extreme detail, but basically, my heart will begin to beat really fast, my body will feel like it leaves itself & I become weightless, I'll start to get up & run around & I can't control it, & I'll literally think I'm dying. The thing is, it ONLY happens when I'm alone, & it won't even happen all the time. It tends to happen like 1 out of every 3 times I'm alone. It actually stopped for about a year, but a few months ago it began again & it's becoming more intense & more frequent. It has happened one time around people; I was with a few of my friends & we were drinking (which, by the way, I don't plan on drinking again) & it was about 3 am & I had one of these episodes.. it wasn't quite as severe as it is when I'm alone, but still, it scared me. Mostly because being around people is my way of ensuring an anxiety attack won't happen, but since it happened around people, now I'm worried I won't be able to control it at all. My question is basically just does anyone have any personal experiences or remedies that may help? What even triggers something like this to happen? Any & all input would be extremely helpful..

I know how it feels to suffer from panic and anxiety attacks, I've had them for years. Recently, I was able to get rid of them forever, though. I started a website to share my experience and tips with other people, check it out here: www.goodbyepanicattacks.net

First of all, no one ever died of a panic attack, no one ever went crazy from a panic attack, and you're not having a mental breakdown. The more you know about panic attacks, the better yoou will be able to cope with them. For more information on panic attacks see wiki below.

Please see a doctor. They can give you medication that can calm you and then have no more panic /anxiety attacks. Some people recommend exercising to reduce stress which then reduces the panic attacks. Pilates, yoga, or something you enjoy. But still think you should see a doctor.
