What's the difference between Imax 3d and Digital 3d?

Why there is difference in 3d effect in IMAX theatre ?

• I watched Avatar in Imax . I also watched T Rex, L5, Into the deep which is made by Imax itself.. Watching T Rex it feels like all dinosaurs are moving around me..... Same great effect in L5 and Into the deep... But in Avatar and all other hollywood movies in Imax, 3d effects are not god as Imax made movies... Why that's so?????? Also I have never experience 3d effect as good as imax made movies.... why????

  It has to do with the settings on the 3d camera when filming or how they do it when converting a 2d movie to 3d like titanic. They can totally control how far out in front or behind the screen everything will look, and once that is set it looks the same on all screens. So if you go to Muppets 3d at Disney world in florida several times things come far far out in front of the screen. At a Bugs Life 3d things don't come out in front of the screen nearly as far. Same with Hollywood films. They use the 3d more for depth, things looking behind the screen, not so much far in front of the screen like Imax will do. Has to do with how far to the left and right both images space apart, and if the right eye image is on the left side or right side of the left eye image.
