What's the best printer for a university student?

• I know I still have about 4 months until I have to go off to school but I want to make sure that I get everything I need and that I have time to search for the best prices, etc. Anyways, I'm definitely going to get a printer (as I intend to change my handwritten notes to computer notes and print them out and I always print out multiple copies of assignments to do all of my editing) but I cannot decide on a colour printer or a black and white printer. As a university student did you do a lot of colour printing or mostly black and white? My school has printers available but it is $0.50 per coloured sheet so if I am going to be doing a lot of printing in colour over the next four years, it could be beneficial. If not, I'll just pay 50 cents for each coloured page that I need. What do you think? If it helps, I'm an HBSW student (Social Work) so I'll be taking social work courses and other social science and humanities courses (Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, and Linguistics courses for the most part).   Actually, it is cheaper to get your print outs from your local library rather than to have one your own. Why? Consider the cost of energy, cost of INK, cost of expensive original cartridges? I would rather get my papers printed in my library rather than buying a new printer. If it broke for printing a thesis document of 200 pages and the deadline is tomorrow will you still be able to depend on it? 50 cents for a whole colored paper is the cheapest you can get and you can only get these in libraries because school nowadays supports students to spend a little rather than to make some money out of them. i suggest let the library do its thing.
