How to create a generic View for different Models?

What are Ways that I can create a first person view with a Camera?

  • Lately I have been wanting to create a little series on youtube involving a kind of warfare theme, that being said, airsoft guns and such are involved. There are points in the series (when I get to making it) that will have a first person view, I.E. Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc. First person shooter kind of thing. I'm having a little bit of difficulty thinking of ways that I can hold a camera in front of my face and create the first person look while still having both of my hands free. Do Note: I don't have fancy stuff, just a regular flip-camera and crap around my house. I understand that one way I could attempt a first person view is to put a helmet on (a football helmet would work) and tape the camera to the front of the helmet. That's one way that seems fairly simple and functional. That's only one way I can think of creating a first person view. Though it seems to definitely work, I was wondering if there are other ways that I can do this type of thing without having to pay for anything past the cost of $20, as I'm not very wealthy. Please let me know if there are other ways to create a first person view that work. Thanks!

  • Answer:

the best thing to do would be to get a helmet. Then, with some heavy duty bolts and washers from the hardware store, you should be able to create a mount freddiew, a great youtuber that does lots of first person stuff uses a helmet rig at times http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yEYe5X8lLc&feature=g-all-u go to 1:30 and he will explain what he did you don't need a tripod head, any 1/4'' screw will fit the flip camera and it should be stable enough

Parts: Bike Helmet 3/8ths inch wide bolt Lock washer that fits around bolt Regular washer 3/8ths inch nut Tools: Wrench to tighten bolt and nut First put the lock washer then washer on the bolt down to the head. Next feed the bolt lock washer and washer into the whole on the top of the helmet. If there isn't one drill one in the top of the helmet. Next thread to nut on the bolt after the bolt is through the hole in the helmet. Once u do this just screw your flip onto the bolt with the tripod mount and your done
