How can I ship a big package to Mexico?

Need to ship a package to Mexico, need some advice?

  • So I need to ship my friend in Mexico some different things that are light and would fit in one of those small envelope sized bag things. I see through the post office certified mail it will cost 12.95. However, I have heard bad things about the post office in Mexico losing stuff and taking forever to deliver. At the same time I looked at fedex and unless im mistaken they want 73 dollars which is insane. If I use the post office and its a non descript package is there any chance it will get there in three weeks or less? Also, is there any companies like ups that will do it cheaper? I looked but the all seem to want a fortune unless im not doing the price quotes right. Thanks

DHL is most common in Mexico. My bank DHL'ed my bank card down for about $40 but that might have included extra insurance because of what it was

I live in Mexico and have noticed an big improvement in the Mexican mail service in the past few years. I do trust it more than in the past. sometimes things from the U.S. come in 2 or 3 weeks, sometimes 4 or more. Do check out DHL, but then, you can try the postal service. If the recipient lives in a large city, rather than a remote village, your chances are better. Be sure you address it correctly, including the correct postal code.

DHL is your best bet to anywhere in Mexico. Regular mail may be cheaper, but you do run the risk of your parcel being stolen by the underpayed Correos Mexicanos employees.
