How much would a trip to Europe cost for a month?

How much would it cost for a one month europe trip?

  • Flying from america into the U.K. next summer. We plan on travelling by train to each of the countries...probably 7-10, including spain, france, netherlands(amsterdam), germany, greece, italy. It is me and 2 other friends, we will be sharing one hotel room together. and probably going to some of the famous tourist sites. So how much would this approximately be, including travel, food, admissions, etc. remember for about 1 month during next summer (2013) Thank you!

  • Answer:

Some of the countries you plan to visit are among the most expensive in the world, and none of them are cheap. Use travel sites like Travelocity to price airfare, train tickets, and hotels. There are many online travel guides you can use to price activities. Watch for hints like "The site is closed on Tuesdays". Budget at least 50 Euros per day > per person < for meals and minor incidental expenses. Check with your health insurance to find out if it covers you in Europe. If yes then take proof of coverage with you. If no or not sure then get trip medical insurance, which is cheap and sold by airlines & travel agents. Please do not skimp on this as an otherwise-silly accident could turn into a crisis if you don't have medical insurance. This is a US government site, but the information is valid for anyone traveling away from their home country: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1470.html

Travel cheaply and you could do food and admissions for 50-60 euros per person. Hotels will vary, you can do hostels as cheap as 25 euros a night

Seriously, if you really are going to all of those countries by train in just a month, you won't have a lot of time. I'd rethink it. Distances are considerable, you realise this? There are budget hotels available through www.hostelworld.com if you'd prefer.
