Has anyone ever used the craigslist adult services?

Ending care with adult social services UK?

  • Until January this year I was in sheltered housing. I also used to have a diagnosis of Aspergers, but it got revoked. I decided to move away to a different city with my boyfriend. I don't like the care system at the best of times. I just found that my life wasn't going anywhere, they expected me not to live independently and worst of all they were extremely interfering, I was also not using any of the support and doing everything by myself. I know that my tenancy has ended with the supported living, does that mean my care will automatically end with social services? I did ask the manager of my housing to inform social services that I was no longer in need of any of their funding and wanted to end my contract, etc. She didn't say that she couldn't do that. Do I have to call them and arrange a meeting to end my contract? Did it automatically end with my tenancy? I haven't informed anyone where I am living, as I don't feel that that is their business, and I find social services and supported living nosey and interfering, so it wouldn't be possible for me to receive any letters. I can't find any information about this on the internet.

    If I was you I would speak to social services directly to make sure that funding has ended.

Well, just send them a letter without a return address on it..saying that you don't want any further help..thing is by doing this voluntarily you'll miss out on your chance to get council housing (people leaving care are in one of the categories that qualify for priority council housing)..if you're o.k. with his..fine...but think it through eh...

If you are 18 and over you are an Adult and can do as you like. Not sure about the legalities if you are under that age. See what happens. Good Luck UK
