Why is everyone trying to be indie?

Why is everyone always trying to make me their sidekick?

• I swear, all my life it seems everyone thinks they're better than me and is trying make me their student or something. when I was a little kid, my brothers try to teach me how to be good at sports, I appreciated that. then through school, my friends either try to teach me how to be cool and how to be like a gangster. ha. now I'm in college, and every guy is trying to "teach" me how to be player and a pickup artist, even though they fail at it themselves. honestly, I get more girls than most of the guys, but I never brag about it so they don't know about it. and then they try to tell me how they're veterans of the game and give me reasons to admire them. I think they just want to make me their wing man so they can attempt to bring girls home easier, which I have yet to see them accomplish once. Why do people always want to make themselves seem better than me? especially me?

  Hey there, I've got two ideas for you to consider: 1. Please don't take this as an attack, cuz it's not meant to be, but this could just be your imagination. I used to think the same way, and got upset with myself for letting people "walk all over" me. But now that I'm older, I realized that I was being too sensitive. It's called fearing inferior, and it's a self-esteem thing. You have to talk yourself up and remind yourself that there is nothing that makes you inferior to this person, and it's very unlikely that they would intentionally enslave you or make you their wing man. Nobody can do that, it's a free country and you are your own person. 2. While it's very unlikely that a lot of people would take advantage of you, there are definetly some people who would see a nice guy like you as easy prey. And they're just jerks. So, you have to tell them, "No thanks, I don't need advice on girls, I've got everything under control bro" or whatever guys say. Some people just like feeling superior to others, and sometimes it's not a good trait. Just be yourself, and make it impossible for people to make you their sidekick. Be the hero! I hope I helped. =)
