New ideas for summer makeup?

What are some summer outfit ideas?

  • I'm going summer clothing shopping soon! I want to know some cute summer clothing/outfit ideas. Also I will be at a service trip and a summer camp so some clothes that would be good to have there. Also some ideas for hair and makeup? I'm looking for a really light concealer that blends easily but also stays and covers. If you have any suggestions, that'd be great!

Everyday: I love Forever 21 or Urban Outfitters for strapy tops that I usually pair with demin short shorts (check True Religion) add a cute cardigan (J Crew) with a pair of metallic sandals (DSW), and of course no outfit would be complete with out a necklace (I suggest a longer one that at least reaches down to your ribs), pair it with colors that bring out your eyes. I usually go with a high ponytail with this but depending on the shape of your face it may not look good so another option is a side braid. Girly Casual: Try Delia's (it's a website) for a dress or even Free People, pair that with crochet flats or again metallic sandals! Try to find a feminine looking necklace (shorter this time but not too short), and find a pair of dangle earrings and you'll be set! Give your hair a soft wave and pull the front bits back and twist them then put a hair tie in to tie them together. Comfy: I like to just get a pair of cropped Lulu Lemons and a pin-tucked peasant top (usually a floral print, and possibly stripes) for this try Abercrombie, H&M, and Forever 21. And if you are willing to make it perfect find a faded cropped jean jacket, this is hard because if the arm goes all the way down to your wrist and is too baggy it will ruin the outfit. Try to get one that is generally fitted and go only to or a bit below your elbows. Put on Toms and a messy up-do for your hair. Flirty: Skirts, Skirts, Skirts! Find a skirt (any type polka dot, floral, stripped, crocheted, or solid colored) I recommend Abercrombie. Next if you chose one with with a solid V-Neck top (any store). Then Havaiana's or again metallic sandals or stretchy flats. And if it's cold add a long sweater (Hollister had a really cute grey button down) Basic: Jeans, capri, or cargo pants with a loose top (looks best when purple, blue, or yellow is in it, can be floral print, and solid, but STAY AWAY from stripes). Make your hair as strait as possible then add a head band (make it so it is around the same color as the least visible color in your shirt; unless it is yellow and you are blonde or it is black and you are dark brown etc.) Add a nice tan leather jacket (I included a link for one below) but don't zip it up or even when you do not all the way half way max. http://www.wilsonsleather.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12597548&cp=2446811.11483982&view=all&parentPage=family Makeup: Concealer is a tricky one but my favorite is is Benefit's "Hello Flawless ". It blends if you use the right applicator and apply lightly. Here's a link: http://www.sephora.com/hello-flawless-spf-15-P231510?skuId=1153394 I also tend to use a bit blush, called "Dandelion" also from Benefit. It helps bring out your cheek bones and often times it can soften your features to give you a more feminine look. Then take a bit of "Bad Gal" mascara (again Benefit, it is the best cosmetics so try to use those) and apply lightly then take your finger and swoop it up as if it were the mascara wand which gives the illusion that you aren't wearing that much and are very naturally pretty; which I'm sure you are. But make sure that if you have blonde eyelashes (like me) that you buy the brown mascara instead of black. SO for your none camp clothes you will probably want the items listed above and a bit more. Try to take these examples and duplicate it by changing the top, or skirt and shirt. So I suggest you buy two or three tops to every example. And add your own teaks to make the outfit your own! Now for your camp clothes I basically wore short, sneakers, high pony, no make up and a tee-shirt for the entire session. But your should bring at least two cute outfits just incase! You never know. I hope that helped! Have a great summer!
