I'm on a diet and my parents keep making these wonderful meals and I keep caving. My goal is 50 pounds by ....?

the summertime. My doctor said as long as I strengthened my diet and did a little extra exercise, that that 50 pounds would shed fairly quickly. See, I am a teenager and my metabolism is naturally high since have extremely athletic parents. Last I went to the doctor, I was 5'5 and weighed 165 pounds. I want to be exactly 115 pounds. That is a healthy weight for the build I want. I do want a little muscle though. I dance and despite the long hours I put into it, I just cannot seem to get that lean, toned body. My instructor says I'm just big-boned, but I've also heard there is not such thing as 'big boned.' I am on a fish, veggie, fruit, and melba or grissini bread diet (HCG diet drops). I have heard that too much exercise can counteract the results of the drops, so I plan on doing 30 minutes a day of cardio. I also walk up a bunch of steps each day in school, so I do get a mini workout in a few times a day in that alone. Question: How can I survive my diet when my parents are cooking my favorite meals. Granite, they don't know I'm on the HCG diet, but a few years ago, I went on a diet and failed because of the same reason. That time they knew I was dieting, so.. what should I do?

Answer:
115 is not a healthy weight. That would qualify you for a diagnosis of an eating disorder. Call your doctor's office to verify this, since you seem convinced you are correct. Also talk to your doctor about a healthy diet plan. You seem to be basing your diet on rumor and myth.

A healthy diet contains all food groups, even fats that are in your favorite meals.Eat in moderation!Don't evolve yourself into having an eating disorder, because your weight is not very healthy.Just try and keep healthy and you should start to see a difference:)

You should discuss your diet needs with your parents. You should also try to some degree to be polite to eat what is made for you, and try and focus on 'portion control', and journal your food consumption, and try and count calories in vs calories out. There are little electronic gismos that are helpful for this also. I'm using fitbit (fitbit.com) and it helps track activity as well as sleep in relation to food and activity journaling.
