What age can I get my license?

At what age can i get my drivers license in Canada?

  • I've heard that each province has it own rules, I mean in some province you can get driving license in 16 and in other province it's from 17.. I'm going to move to New Brunswick and I was wondering when can I get my driving license there, in what age?

  • Answer:

A person may apply for a class 9 (Motor driven cycle licence) driver's licence at age 14 with parental consent. A person may apply for a class 8 (Farm Tractor licence) driver's licence at age 14 with parental consent. A person may apply for a class 6 (motorcycle) driver's licence at age 16 with parental consent. With parental consent, a person may apply for a Class 7 (motor vehicle) driver's licence (Graduated Licence Program) at the age of 16. A person must be at least 18 years of age to apply for a class 4 (ambulance/taxi/bus<25 passengers), class 3/4, class 2 (bus>25 passengers) , or class 1 (truck tractor) licence and have completed the Graduated License Program.
