What happens if I have an extra person in my car?

What happens if you on a hill and your car back into the person behind you?

  • i was in a stop sign and the car behind me was tailgating me as i let go of the break i hit the car that was behind me i didnt see any damage to ant of the cars the people in the other car called the cops and they didnt want to do a police give a police report because they didnt see any damage. I didnt call my insurgence company because i didnt think i needed to because they was no damage and now i got a letter from my insurece company DO YOU THINK ITS MY FAULT

  • Answer:

Personally, I don't think you were at fault at all. Since you were driving on a hill, if it's enough to cause a car to move significantly backwards, then the hill must be on the steep side. Because of that fact, BOTH drivers should know to be cautious when driving under this type of condition. The burden lies more on the driver behind you because he shouldn't have been tailgating at all on this type of hill! If you give the argument that he should have left more space behind you to accommodate for the steepness of the hill, I think you just might win this case. P.S. Go take pictures of the exact spot where your car hit the other car. Make sure that you can get how hilly it is in the pics, too!

they called thier insurance and will be sorry for it later dont worry because even though they were not at fault their insurance goes up anyway. Its too bad you did not just drive off and let it go but next time I bet you will. you cannot hit someones car and not expect something to happen. Get over it you were the one in this case that had to let off the break what did you think was going to happen?

No doubt it was your fault. Anytime you back into someone it is legally your fault. Sorry... Add: Legally, it does not matter that YOU WERE ON A HILL. Whether you like it or not, whether you think it is fair or not, whether it makes sense or not, according to the law you are the one at fault. Sorry!

It is your fault for failing to control your vehicle. A competent driver would avoid such vehicular contact. It doesn't matter if you were on a hill or not.
