I have a really hard time understanding how 6-7 years (age wise) makes such a significant difference in the nba. For example lebron James is 27 and he's so explosive, fast, can jump high, doesn't get injured or tired, is really athletic. But Kobe Bryant is 33, Kevin Garnett is 35, Tim Duncan is 35, Vince carter is 35, Paul pierce is 34, and those players have no athleticism, speed, leaping ability, stamina. Basically all the things I named for lebron these guys don't have. It's not like there is a 20 year age difference. The age difference between lebron and those guys I named is 6-8 years. Why does it make such a difference?!?!?! I just don't understand why and how that makes a difference. Maybe it's cause I'm still young, but I just don't understand. Can someone please explain to me in a detailed answer why just 6-7 years makes sucha difference.

Answer:
experience, it's also a few hundred game difference, so thats like 500 more games on kobe's legs then lebrons. it's all about the wear and tear on your bones and muscles.

1.Lebron was just born very athletic 2.At ages 16 to around 30 your body is in it's prime, thats when you can run your fastest, jump you highest, best stamina, etc,so once you get past that age you start to slow down

6 years mean a little under 600 games a year plus the older you get the more time it takes your body to recover not to mention the stress of always moving from city to city Eventually your gonna wear down your body and being in the nba only accelerates it

human body starts to deteriorate at the age of around 30. the body will become not that regenerative, not energetic. you'll know that more deeply when you'll get there, i mean when you reach 30.

You think all those players are being slow on purpose? No there is a reason for this it is because they have alot more wear and tear on there bodies including playoffs. 82 games times 6= 492 games not including playoff games. Also think that years make a difference to. Lebron came in the league at 18 only in the nba for 9 years. Kobe came when he was 17 he has been in the league for 16 years alot of wear and tear on the body. Guys like Garnett and Duncan have to carry all that weight ever since they came into the league when they were 20. This isn't really hard unless you put your thinking cap on and think dude.
