Trumpet mouthpiece help?

Trumpet mouthpiece STILL stuck! Please help! Really worried..?

• Okay so in band class yesterday (Friday), I was playing as usual, and after class my mouthpiece was stuck in the leadpipe. Usually it would be no problem (my director has a mouthpiece remover) but we had a substitute who had no clue where it was. I tried putting ice on the mouthpiece and hot water on the leadpipe, but it STILL won't come out! I really want to practice this weekend but I'm scared it will make it more stuck! I would take it to the music shop tomorrow (Sunday) but it's closed. So I have questions: 1. Can I still practice or will it make it more stuck? 2. Will leaving it in even without playing it make it even more stuck? 3. If I can't play it, what are some things I can do to keep my chops in shape without practising? 4. Is there any other things I can try to get it out?! Please help, I'm really worried... This is a rental trumpet that hasn't been insured.

  I have hd this problem and what I do is run hot water on the part where the mouthpiece goes into the receiver . I never put ice on any part of the trumpet. The mouthpiece gets stuck because of buildup of saliva overtime . Hot water causes the brass to expand and that is what will free the mouthpiece. You may have to try several times until the mouthpiece is free. After about three times and no success set horn aside and wait until someone with a tool can remove it that way. Sometimes it takes longer than others to release the mouthpiece. Be patient and when removing after running hot water turn the mouthpiece slowly and carefully. Yes you can play the trumpet when the mouthpiece is stuck.
