Will I be eligible for extended unemployment benefits in New York City?
-
I am a college student in my early 20's and I am currently on unemployment. I have been looking for work but since I don't have a degree yet and because of my class schedule, it has been difficult to find a new job. My first 6 months of benefits will be finished soon and I was wondering, if I don't find a job by then, can I apply for extended benefits? I read some of the guidelines online but they are a little bit confusing to me. I will be attending college again in the fall full time and was told that I could apply for something called 599? However, I won't be in school during the summer and there is no guarantee that I will find a job before then.
