Is being an electronic technician a good field to get into?

Help from people in the library field to get an interview as a library technician?

• I'm a recent grad from a library technician program. I was told before graduating that it on average takes six months to a year to find a starting job in my field and I accept this. The problem is that I can't even get interviews I don't know if it's a problem with my resume/cover letter or what it is, but I'm getting really discouraged. At this point I'm applying for contract, part time and full time jobs. I'm also casting a province wide job net. I"m willing to leave the province if the job was full time. I've also recently had my resume and cover letter looked at by employment counselors. I just don't know what to do at this point. It feels like I should at least have had a few interviews by now and I haven't I've only had one at the beginning of last month. Any advice from librarians or library technicians on what maybe I should be doing to get a call back would be very much appreciate. Thanks.

  You've posted in the wrong category. I know in the USA, we're having issue with funding our libraries. My sister was lucky with her city having one of the best library systems along with the best funded library system so it took her about 2 months after graduation to get hired in and then a year to become full-time. She did have previous experience working in her university library. I would look and make sure that your local library systems aren't suffering from budget cuts. I would also make sure you're up playing previous customer interaction across age groups too.
