Why did you chose nursing as a career?

What should I do for a career in childrens nursing?

  • I want to study nursing at University. But some people are telling me to do general nursing first and then study childrens nursing and then others say just study childrens nursing since thats what you want to do. Which option will be more of an advantage later when it comes to getting a job etc.?? What difference will doing general nursing make? I really need help with this!!!!!!

  • Answer:

There are no general nursing qualifications. There are adult, child, mental health and learning disabilities nurses on the register. If you want to be a children's nurse then do it. If you don't want to be any other type of nurse why do the hard slog of the training if you are not interested in it.

Other answers

Maybe you could try getting a part-time job in child care now or if you ever get chance to get a break from your studies maybe you could go home and help with the care of a younger brother/sister/neighbour/relative/friend…
