Someone is impersonating me on Facebook!?

Someone is impersonating me on Facebook, what can I do?

  • Well not really impersonating.. basically they've just made an anonymous troll account, and they're posting sick statuses and sending people within my social network disgusting messages. I know who it is, because he initially told me he was doing it as a joke, but it's really gone too far now, and he's started rumors around my school, telling everyone it's me doing it. And the more I deny it, the more it looks like I am the one who actually made it -_- I've reported the profile to Facebook and explained the situation, but they've done nothing [what a surprise(!)]. I've tried to report the profile again, but Facebook won't let me. What should I do?!

  • Answer:

Well, if Facebook continues to do nothing, just ignore it. The more you deny that you're making the posts, the more the guy is going to post. When you stop reacting, he'll stop posting. The fun will be gone.

If Facebook won't take the profile down, then unless the profile is libeling you, then you can't do anything. If the person libels you then you can get a lawyer and file a civil suit for the libel.

Tell as many people about it at school as you can, and then ask those people to tell others so the word gets around.

From what it sounds like, you COULD actually call the authorities. (not 9-1-1) but you could call the loacal police because he is trying to steal your identety.
