Why can't I read page on the Internet?

Internet explorer say "cant display web page" But my internet is working?

• It just started saying recently that internet explorer cant display web page. When I run the diagnostic it says there is a problem with the modem/router. But I know it isn't because i can use fire fox no problem. The only way I can get into internet explorer is through my hotmail via msn. Which I was surprised it works. My computer won't let me install windows updates which I believe that it is caused by internet explorer not working properly. If anybody can help me that would be great

  Try this. It will usually solve the problem. Internet explorer repair. Go to Start ♦ control panel ♦ Internet options ♦ advanced ♦ click reset ♦ Place a check mark in the box that says delete personal settings ♦ Then click OK I still see in the answer above that people are still cutting down internet explorer. They probably wouldn't have any problem with it if they would learn how to use a computer. I use IE9 never had any trouble with it and it runs just as good as Firefox or Google Chrome.
