How would you market my website to get the most real visitors?

• I have this website with the startings of a blog. It is focused on helping people overcome addictions of all kinds. I have not done much with hit recently, but I would like to get it going again, but this time I would like to sustain a more real following.   It's rather 'broken' looking at the moment with empty sections. Your Adsense ads don't generate enough revenue to justify paying for advertisements, unless you have capitol to invest in long term development. You would probably need lots of content, much of it original in order to get traffic from the search engines. User generated forum content can help earn search ranking, if you can develop a following, often forum owners 'seed' the process with paid visitors or content scraped from other sites. You might go light on the advertising until you are getting a worthwhile amount of traffic, ads can be an obstacle to search ranking. If you do develop more of an authority site you can sell better paying banner space to recovery centers, etc.
