Moving out at 20 years old without drivers license?

• I'm 20 years old and going on my 2nd year of being out of school. I work and only get 6.18 and hour which is total crap if you ask me. I don't have my license yet, but I do wanna move out badly. I wanna move out because I dont wanna be like my brother who is 25 years old and my sister who is 30 something and still living with my parents. I wanna prove to my dad that I am capable of moving out and finding a job. The thing is about finding a job is that I am really shy and such. & as far as me moving out I wanna know if its better with a room mate or living on your own.. Also, I've always wanted a dog.

  It sounds like your putting allot out there. if you have a job= save money, especially if its a cheap job that only pays you that much no matter how badly you want to live on your own you will never truly be prepared for it- especially your first time(and I saved 4000 before I moved out and it wasn't enough). Unless you work an ungodly amount of hours you still wouldn't be able to support living on your own with that hourly pay. Your best bet if you want to do this soon is renting out a room from someone who is already established and has a house& is just looking for extra money from extra space or go to local colleges b/c they will set up fliers for people your age that are looking for roommates- but either way if you share a space with anyone setting up a contract and rules to the house IS VERY CRUCIAL!!! Also, since you don't drive you have to plan ahead and be prepared to make it in walking distance of job. And if you really want to do any of this, you really need to just do it or your just going to fall back in routine of comfort- like brother and sister? and as far as a dog, establish surviving on your own and budgeting properly first would be a good idea. Just think that if you barely have enough money to live off of ramen and Bologna sandwiches how will you pay for a dog that needs food, vet checkups etc.-generally once you can afford health insurance-car-home good source of income then if its cool w roommates go for it. Also, Im very shy but nothing in life will ever be handed to you don't use being shy as an excuse you just have to keep trying your best until you get what you want out of life. hope this helped! :)
