Interviewing for a new job and pregnant...advice?
-
Hi! I have been looking for a new job for about a month and a half. Had a few interviews, found out I was pregnant! (now I'm about 12 weeks) havent really started showing too much. Now I am waiting for job offers for 3 jobs that I interviewed for. DEntal assistant( new practice...I would be the only worker In the office for the first few months) MA (already established office) , and Accounting (contract to hire position). All desk jobs. No job offers yet, and im having the impatient/ocd problem waiting for the call. So I have a few questions actually I can use some advice on... 1. When should I tell my employer I'm pregnant? Afraid I won't get offered a position if I disclose the info before a decisions been made, but I don't want them to think I'm sneaky or dishonest. 2. I would prefer the Dental Assistant job, but again I'd be the only worker for the first few months and it's a brand new office in the area. I feel like he definately would hire someone else if he knew I was going to be off for maternity leave in just 6 months! 3. how to stop worrying about how your interview went and if ill even get the job in the first place. The dentist only asked 1 question, then started in with the Job description...and said hell call me next week. Only about a 15 minute interview ?? And I keep going over and over the interview in my head....ugh! Wish I could stop thinking about it. I just would love to work there! I think I was likeable at all of the interviews. But I guess we wait and see.... Any advice on any of these topics would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you do much! Natalie

Answer:
Legally - a potential employer can NOT ask you if you're pregnant or not. Just keeping looking and interviewing. Once you begin showing - then it will be obvious.
